Hey! So Glad You're Here!

There are a few things that people generally get around to saying to me after I have had an opportunity to spend some time with them. Among these, the bothersome: "What hair dye do you use?" (I don't) or, "Wow, you're a lot bigger than I thought" (I usually ask for precise clarification here.) Strangers constantly comment, "I know a guy who could be your long-lost brother!" (My only bro is NOT lost".)
But, hands down, since the dawn of all things 'internet' it's been the constant, "You should blog" that I hear.

I guess I have mostly ignored this suggestion because mastering it seemed...hard, which 
y'know...I have made a lifelong practice of trying to avoid. Also, our daughter Ava likes to use the insensitive term, "luddite" to describe my tech capabilities, (...She has a delightful sense of humor...) so that's played in as well, I suppose. 

Anyway, for whatever the reason (maybe my recent disgust with Facebook, plays in too...) I feel like I need a reliable, daily 'vent' for the goofy shit that occurs to me 24/7. Whether its Politics, Sport, Art, Design, Travel, History, Culture or Humor, I often feel like I have something to say, which might find interested ears.

All during my life (I'm now in my 63rd year) I have tended toward voracious, overboard research of all concepts that find their way to my middling consciousness, whether they personally interest me or not. This is a dangerous thing of course, because it turns you into a factoid rambling 'Cliff Claven', who tends to send people running the opposite direction, rather than hearing too many details about Hadrian's Villa, 60s quarterback Lenny Dawson or Picasso's 'blue period', etc!
