Regarding Reproductive Rights!
This past weekend, Seattle joined over 600 US cities in voicing concerns that American Reproductive and healthcare rights are currently enduring unprecedented attack from within. On Saturday, I joined a magnificent group of Christine's and my professional and social associates in marching to a Westlake Mall rally to support protection of the right of American women's continued autonomy for decisions affecting their own healthcare. One speaker after another clearly separated angry, desperate rhetoric about Abortion from the realities of this critically important healthcare procedure. One after another told tales of the importance of their autonomous decisions, which have equally effected their lives and those of their present families.
This was an intellectual and compassionate group, that buoyed my confidence that our state will never fall victim to the cynical, draconian measures adopted recently by a few US states.
This woman stood quietly beside me for most of the presentation. She was there alone and never spoke, as far as I heard. When she saw me photographing her beautifully executed sign through the corner of her eye, she tipped it slightly toward my camera without ever removing her gaze from the speakers' dais. I thanked her...and she looked at me and smiled. One could only admire her quiet and thundering resolve!
Here are the bright eyes of another young woman, choosing a slightly more challenging stance on the subject of the day!
Masking and distancing in deference to viral realities were observed throughout.
Here's a panorama showing the speakers dais and maybe a third of the crowd in attendance.
Can someone explain this one for me? (who's the 24-day group??) I DO love the socially aware schnauzer, however!
Gotta love a SIGNED protest sign!
Yep!
This is actually the other side of the GOP outta my uterus sign above. Pretty good art skills!
...and I think Washington will. But I fear that congressional division and our representative government's inability to observe any kind of intellectual compromise threatens this union now, more than at any time in our long history.
This concept was decidedly the message of the day at this rally. Each woman speaking voiced their love of their families and children in a way that neutralized the narrative of evil intentions, pro-life activists depend upon forwarding. Smart. Thanks for checking in! t.
